Estimations based on cross-entropy

VÁVRA, F., NOVÝ, P., NEUMANOVÁ, M., VOKÁČOVÁ, K. Estimations based on cross-entropy. In Summer School DATASTAT 06. Brno : Masarykova univerzita , 2007. s. 257-262. ISBN: 978-80-210-4493-7
Abstract PDF BibTeX

The minimization of the sampling equivalent of the cross-entropy leads to maximal likelihood estimations. This work concerns about different kinds of estimations with pre-defined constraints and investigates the discrete distributions with some smoothness conditions.

Parameter Identification from Phoniatrical Examinations

NOVÝ, P., VÁVRA, F., PEŠTA, J., MAREK, P. Parameter Identification from Phoniatrical Examinations. In Summer School DATASTAT 06. Brno : Masarykova univerzita , 2007. s. 221-234. ISBN: 978-80-210-4493-7
Abstract PDF BibTeX

This work studies predicative abilities of individual examinant voice range parameters. The study is focused on the comparison of values in the pre-surgical and in the postsurgical phase. This work deals with formulation of some statistical problems and with methods of their solution.

Transformation and probability models

VÁVRA, F., NOVÝ, P., NETRVALOVÁ, A., NEUMANOVÁ, M., VOKÁČOVÁ, K. Transformation and probability models. In Aplimat. Bratislava: Slovak University of Technology, 2006. s. 625-632. ISBN: 80-967305-7-6
Abstract PDF BibTeX

The proposed paper deals with one of methods for study and modelling the realtion of two probalility descriptions (estimation of distribution and its theoretical mode is one example of using) at distribution functions level. The essence of the used concept is transformation of random variables. A version of duality between transformation (distortion) of distribution function and transformation of random variables is investigated too.

Interpretation of user utterances

KONOPÍK, M., MOUČEK, R. Interpretation of user utterances. In Proceedings of the International PhD workshop on systems and control. Ljubljana: Department of Systems and control Jozef Stefan Institute, 2005. s. 1-6. ISBN: 961-6303-74-0
Abstract PDF BibTeX

In this article we present a novel approach to the interpretation of user utterances in order to understand the content of an utterance. We are focused on conversational spoken language and resticted domains.

Semantic hierarchy and dialogue system

MOUČEK, R., KONOPÍK, M. Semantic hierarchy and dialogue system . In Proceedings of the International PhD workshop on systems and control. Ljubljana: Department of Systems and control Jozef Stefan Institute, 2005. s. 1-5. ISBN: 961-6303-74-0
Abstract PDF BibTeX

The paper presents building a semantic hierarchy in the computerized dialogue system. The possible domain independence of semantic concepts and experiments with usage of general semantic concepts in various domains are especially described.
